தஞ்சை பெரிய கோயில் அகழி அழகிகள் - கண்டுபிடித்துவிட்டோம்

இது ஒரு மகிழ்ச்சியான பதிவு. தொலைந்து விட்டது என்றும் மீண்டும் கிடைக்கவே வழில்லை என்ற நிலையில் தஞ்சை பெரிய கோயில் அகழியில் இருந்த இரு சிற்பங்களை பற்றிய முந்தைய பதிவை பதிவு செய்தேன்.

ஆனால் நண்பர் திரு செல்வராஜ் அவர்கள், நான் நாற்பது வருடங்களுக்கு முன்னர் அங்கே விளையாடும் பொது பார்த்துள்ளேன், இன்றும் இருக்கும், விரைவில் படம் எடுத்து அனுப்புகிறேன் என்றதும் கொஞ்சம் நம்பிக்கை பிறந்தது. எனினும் அவை கிடைக்குமோ - எந்த நிலையில் இருக்கும் என்றெல்லாம் பல கேள்விகள் மனதில் இருந்தன. உடனே செல்லமுடியாமல் விடாது மழை வேறு. ஆனால் இன்று இன்ப அதிர்ச்சி - நீங்களே பாருங்கள்.

நூறு ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னர் எடுத்த படங்களில் இருந்தபடியே இன்றும் நிற்கின்றன இரு சிற்பங்களும். பார்க்கும் பொது மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியாக உள்ளது.

தஞ்சையில் கலைச் செல்வங்களை பாதுகாப்போர் குறைவெனினும், சேதம் விளைவிப்போர் இல்லவே இல்லை போலிருக்கிறது :-)

ஆமாம் இவை எண்ண கோட்டைக் காவல் தெய்வங்களா? எதற்காக இவற்றை இங்கு சுவற்றில் பதித்துள்ளனர்?

ரமேஷ், ஆயுதக் கிடங்கு இருக்கிறதா என்று தெரியவில்லை ஆனால் கேரளாந்தகன் கோபுரத்தின் வலது புறத்தில் உள்ள மாடத்தில் ஏராளமான கற்குண்டுகள் சேமித்து வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. இவற்றை பார்க்க பீர்ங்கி குண்டுகளா எனத் தோன்றும்! என்னிடம் அந்தப் படம் கூட உள்ளது.

John Milton would have been thrilled with the scope of his verse!!

so who are these ladies anyway? and why would anyone place such obvious markers to an ammunition hideaway…and that too, facing the enemy?

It is really pleasing to see that these sculptures where not lost. Truly appreciate the efforts of Mr.Selvakumar in capturing these photos.

ஆமா, உங்களுக்கு இதெல்லாம் யார் சொல்லித் தர்ராங்க. புத்சு புத்சா கண்டுபிடிக்கிறீங்களே.
கடைசி வரைக்கும் இவங்க ரெண்டு பேரும் யாருன்னு சொல்லவே இல்லையே சார்.
அழகிகள்னு சொல்லிட்டு அட்ரஸ் பண்ணாம இருந்தா எப்டி.

பொதுவாக சிலைகளை நாம் அடையாளம் காண அவை வைத்துள்ள ஆயுதங்கள் / அடையாளங்கள் / முத்திரைகள் உதவும். இந்த இரு சிலைகளிலும் அப்படி எதையுமே நாம் பார்க்கும் வண்ணம் இல்லாமல் சிதைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. எனினும் இன்னும் ஒருமுறை முயற்சி செய்துப் பார்க்கிறேன்.

பழைய படங்களைக் காட்டிலும் புதிய படங்கள் பிரம்மிக்க வைக்கின்றன. அகழிக்குள் அழகிகளுக்கு என்ன வேலை.

ஆயிரம் ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுள் ஆய்வு செய்யவே பத்தாது போலிருக்கிறது. எங்களுக்காக இணையத்தில் அழகிகளை கொண்டுவந்தமைக்கு நன்றி.

In the previous post RODA ALEX sir said ” VJ…it may be way of the mark but just want to try..a fort surrounded by water is called jala durga - can it have anything to do with that ?”

its a misspelt one the actual term to notify the FORT surrounded by water is called by the term ” JALA DURGGAM “. DURGGAM also means FORT.

hi sree,

The main point to consider here - is there are not original installations and they are not supposed to be here in the first place. ie: you can see that these sculptures were already broken and someone at a later date ( nayak??) not wanting to discard them has used them in the fortifications.
